Looking for a challenge? I sure would like to learn exactly what happened to those paddlers caught in the wind storm in Greenland last week. I've been watching the reports, but the reporters over there only seem interested in deaths (or likelihood of same), not in how the wind storm came on or what the paddlers were able to do in such winds. It is worth noting that they were dressed to swim, unlike the two 63-yr-old fellows from Michigan that got hammered in northern Newfoundland some weeks ago. The trip leaders in Greenland must have had the possibility of such weather in their bag of tricks when they planned the trip. I just don't believe they could have set off thinking all sunny days forever-no problems- no worries! Tell me they were all equipped with those little short GP walking sticks! Are they able to use VHF or cell phones (or position locators) on their trips?
