Sunday afternoon I had one of those "this is why I paddle" days.

Stories to last the winter.

Highlights included F. (he of the tumbling surf ski), seeing 16 mph on
his gps, when he outran a wave. He also pulled off punching through a
wave which went over his head and left him with a 4+ foot drop on the
backside - he stayed upright with a quick draw stroke on landing.

At least 2 waves going over my head as I paddled out from the beach when
punching through the break. There was tiny seaweed leaving polka dots
on everything, including on the underside of my hat visor, after getting
out through the break.

Mike peeling off of a wave face which he decided was taller than he
wanted to tempt. (his torso/head was approximately 1/3 the size of the
wave face when I saw him peel off.

3 boats riding the same wave, multiple times.

Riding a single wave for 200+ meters.

Shouting technique suggestions to the guy on the wave behind the wave
that I was actively surfing.

Waving to someone while surfing because I could.... It was almost too
easy.
