I'm betting they were both kayak "fishermen" and just using their kayaks to paddle to a more promising beach from which to do surf fishing. This sort of thing won't go on too long... I hear that the world will end in 2012 for one reason or another. The details are pretty vague but the end result seems pretty popular. I hope it's not by fire... I already lost 4 kayaks in a fire.
