Anyone interested in a Tulik should take a look at the custom Goretex Tuliks
from Paulo Ouellet who has starting a small company www.comfortpaddling.net

His tuliks are both breathable and water proof. All the stitches are seam
taped and the wrist gaskets are super heavy duty. I suspect they'll be far
more robust then those found on typical dry suits.

Best of all is the seal around your face. Cinch it down adjust the Velcro on
the sides of the hood and you have a water proof seal that does not feel like
your face has been shoved through a rubber hose. By loosing off the Velcro
cinches the hood fits looser and provides some ventilation. Important if
you're a hot head like me.

I've been wearing the Tulik over my dry suit. This makes a great alternative
to a heavy neoprene Tulik. It keeps you warm and dry as opposed to warm and
wet. If you paddle in warmer climates then here in Victoria BC this might be
an ideal piece of kit. Paulo also makes a custom fitted fleece sweater with a
removable hood designed to be worn under the tulik hood on cold days.

I have no affiliation with the company.

Bad news Craig.
At today's exchange rate it would be $302.81 for you.
Plus shipping!!

I had never owner a Tulik and had only worn the neoprene version once. While
the neoprene was good for rolling was less then ideal for paddling as it was
not very comfortable, it was a universal fit (three sizes fit all). I found it
heavy. And the neoprene left an unsightly ring around my face when I took it
off. At the beach little children cried when they saw my ugly face with this
red ring around it. I'm sure they're now in some Trauma therapy.
Hahahahahaha! Serves the blighters right.

I love that outdoor rink you've got over there on the lake. Is it frozen over
yet. It reminds me of being a kid playing hockey on frozen ponds. God I'm
old.

That may put it out of my reach... but I'll start saving now.

I regularly scare small children. I've begun to look at it as a blessing.

The lake froze over about November 23rd when we had a serious cold snap.
Since then the air temps have warmed to the point where it often above
freezing during the day along with rain a few times and sunshine several
times. We have noticed a few leads in the ice. Luckily, we have an ice rink.
We would have gone skating tonight (every Wednesday) except that the flu and
cold season arrived and many of the main actors bowed out.

The ice does make rolling much easier.
