I agree with Bob.  Chuck is the "go to" guy when you need cold water
guidance.  Chuck has reached many people beyond his imagination.

Yup... plus1 on this. Chuck's influence has changed the way *I* paddle,
that's for sure. I don't think you can reach all the people simply because
so many people don't think of themselves as "paddlers" or "kayakers". Why
the USCG or the other agencies haven't done more is a mystery. Perhaps they
think that getting someone who fishes from a kayak to buy a $900 drysuit is
futile; and they're probably right about that part. But they could get most
people to think harder about their clothing choices and maybe buy some
neoprene or better poly or fleece. Anything is better than jeans and a
tee-shirt. :)
