After the incidents of bird flocks falling out of the sky, dead, now it's
happening over Italy. I heard one report that the birds were dying from
"trauma" but the Italian incident is saying that it might be suffocation.

Miners take birds into mines to warn them of poisonous gas and low oxygen
levels. I wonder if we've now come to that. :(

I've heard they're freezing to death due to the mini ice age we're
supposed to be entering!

Mark,

Nice of you to publish a link skeptical of Piers Corbyn. Note that, unlike
real scientists, he refuses to publish his prediction methods and,
furthermore, refuses to allow any writer critical of his prediction accuracy
to quote from his forecasts. These are fingerprints of quackery.

I assume the real scientists are the ones who predicted a mild winter
for Britain?
I've too long been told I'm too stupid to understand the complexities of
Global Warming, so I just bundle up from the exceptionally cold SoCal
winter, that I'm sure scientists will tell me was the hottest on record,
and amuse myself reading.
I perhaps find it a bit amusing that you had no words for Craig's
perhaps tongue in cheek suggestion that dead birds hitting the ground
might be signs of the apocalypse, but you have to choose your battle
wisely. No sense correcting errors that don't interfere with your
belief. I promise to abide by the real scientists who remain
uncompromised by the billions and billions spent on research, when they
post their latest plans for carbon trade offs from Cancun, or whatever
resort they've congregated at.
But if they get snowed out one more time, it's going to start being hard
to believe!
I assumed the latitude to post, probably as Craig did, because it's been
a little slow on Paddlewise.
Oops, they just went online with another coal plant in China!

Thanks, Jackie. Good to inject some sanity into these overblown claims of
"mysterious" events. The sky is not falling (yet).

Well, according to this article:

"Weather cold and wet weather like in Arkansas New Year's Eve when the
birds fell out of the sky is often associated with mass bird deaths,
ornithologists say"

That at least jibes with my mini ice age theory!
