I have boats that are 20 years old that I still paddle around on a regular basis depending upon what I want to do that day. I knew that surf-ski boats are light and quick... but "disposable" didn't enter my mind. :P Craig PS: And with all the news about kayak racers who don't wear PFDs or drysuits even in freezing conditions I'm glad you at least put a drysuit on to paddle in the winter.
