My son-in-law, Michael, sent out a Facebook message right after the eathquake to say that he rode it out at the Tokyo International Airport while he was waiting to transfer to a United flight back to Seattle. He works in China and was on his way back home when the earthquake hit. We managed to stay in touch with him for several hours before the telecoms there got overrun. He just posted another one about an hour ago saying that he had managed to trade some Chinese money for Japanese money and got the last bit of food from a vending machine at the airport: Ice cream and sardines. LOL We suspect he may be there a couple of days. He's trying to get some sleep. They have all the people out of the terminal and on the tarmac. Luckily the weather is good.
