Just a note... my son-in-law (and a paddler) arrived in Seattle about an hour ago. I think he's hungry. And his cell phone is dead. But Facebook, for all its faults, was the go-to place to keep people informed of what is going on. He could not make a cell phone call but he could use that cell phone to update Facebook. Not what I would have predicted but if it works... then it works.
