The most relaxed forward stroke is the Ottawa Shuffle. Lie back, all the way back on to the rear deck. Let your hand rest on your chest, where they hold the shaft of the paddle. Paddle by alternately cocking the wrist and raising the fingers of one hand, and then cock the wrist and raise the fingers of the other hand.
