The ensuing seiche was about a foot and a half. Remember, kiddies, always wash behind your ears, brush your teeth, and tie up your boat before you go to bed. (Four kayaks drifted off, but were eventually recovered. Being the paranoid type when it comes to boats drifting or blowing away, I had carried mine about ten feet onto shore and then tied it to a big rock. In the morning it was bobbing about, still tied to the rock.
