Hope Floats Kayak for a Cure Victoria hopes to raise $15,000 for the fight against Cancer VICTORIA, BC b AUGUST 2, 2011. The fourth annual Kayak for a Cureb" Victoria event, benefitting the Canadian Cancer Society will be taking place on Sunday, August 21st, 2011 at Verdier Park (next to the Brentwood Bay/Mill Bay Ferry terminal) in Brentwood Bay. Kayakers will be guided on a five-hour adventure down Saanich Inlet by certified paddlers. Once their adventure completes, paddlers will be welcomed back to shore with a post-paddle BBQ at Verdier Park. Paddlers range from bvery experiencedb to bfirst-timersb and all are welcome and encouraged to join. Registration is open to the public and can be done online at the Canadian Cancer Societybs Kayak For A Cureb" Victoria fundraising page. Kayaks and paddle gear for the event can be reserved through the Brentwood Bay Lodge Marina, Pacifica Paddlesports and Ocean River Sports. The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization whose mission is to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with cancer.
