Happy new year to one and all. Our December drought ended a few hours before year's end with rain followed by about half an inch of snow, leaving a rough crust of ice on the walks. It should all melt by the end of the week, though, as we're supposed to have lots of sun and 40 degrees by Thursday or Friday. I remember other New Years many years ago when it was 15 or 20 below, but so far this winter we have yet to drop below zero F.
