It is a good idea and I am going to try this approach. I have to wait a few
more weeks until I am wearing a boot cast that I can wrap in such a way as to
reasonably protect it from water.

He built it from my own mold. It was a pleasure to work with him. I had
planned to do some of the custom work on the boat myself because there are a
lot of fiddly things about the design after the hull and deck are laid up but
the Achilles injury made that impossible. So I had to settle for his crew
doing the whole thing so I had to sacrifice a few things that only an
irrational owner of the design would be willing to do. (Very complicated
bulkhead configurations and complex tubing that I commonly put inside my
boats)

I am going to pick up the first one next Wednesday. Normally that would be
reason for a quick dash over to Blake Island as a maiden voyage. Now I have to
wait. This is a design for wilderness camping and I still hope to do a week of
that in late summer.
