The very friendly staff of Savannah Canoe and Kayak will be hosting a Cape Falcon Kayak SOF workshop Nov 3-10, 2012. Cost is $1850 per person. Its home to a large group of seriously fun paddlers who regularly venture out into the surf machine that is called The Triangle off Tybee Island. You might even take the time to see the city of Savannah while you are here and walk amongst the historic buildings, take a ghost tour and hang out where the pirates used to hang out. Sometimes against their will and by their neck. Most people who visit Savannah/Tybee Island seem to think the rents are reasonable, the sites appealing and the food exceptional. Bring the better half and make it a mini vacation. Do not miss this if you want to learn how to build a SOF kayak. Pam and I took the class at Brian's home base in Oregon and enjoyed it; but it was a lot of work. I still have my F-1 kayak (with Pam's kayak next to it... she gave it to Sue and went off and spent kilobucks for one by Sterling) and love it. The kids and grandkids love it too.
