With all my friends abandoning their sea kayaks for longer, skinnier boats, I was forced to go out and by my own surfski. Today was my third day out in my newtome Fenn Mako XT. I'd gone out the harbor yesterday for the first time and I was surprised my muscles didn't seem too sore today, but that was until I got in the boat again today! Still, Ken and I headed out again into a three foot swell. As someone used to big kayaks and a giant backband, this ski stuff is going to take some getting used to, but it does seem a bit more carefree lifestyle out on the water. A fun new challenge, but I'll be hanging on to my sea kayaks.
