I've always wanted a Mariner and with the purchase of the Escape, I've fulfilled that wish-to a point. I always thought of my self as a Coaster person, but I tried my friends Express too, and that seemed promising. Even now that I've lost a few pounds maybe the Max. Anyway, I was looking for a boat a bit sportier than the Escape. And while I always wanted a Mariner, I was contacted by a guy who always wanted an Escape! He had talked with Matt in the past, who had told him for his size the Escape was his best chance of owning a Mariner. I wasn't dying to let the boat go, but I was happy to see it go to someone who would really appreciate it. I can say he drove a long way to come give it a test drive and he liked how it paddled, so now it's on its way to a new home. Thank you to Matt for all the great info on the boat. The new owner is a Paddlewise person, so has been following all the talk and info as well. It does feel like giving up a piece of kayak history.
