Despite an overcast sky, it was a beautiful day for a bit of RGing in Laguna today. Lenora, Jack, Howard and I launched from El Moro, one of our favorite OC launch sites. Wave action was small, but the small shore break was enough to implode my skirt and send me back to shore to bail out my boat! It was hard to find much trouble, but I followed Jack into a shallow feature and couldn't get out before the next wave knocked me sideways. I planted for a brace, heard a big snap and my one piece paddle became a two piece! Darn! Of course there were no spares to be had amongst us, so I continued the day with half a paddle. I'd planned to take photos more than play anyway, so it didn't hurt my feelings too much! I hope the photos convey the fun we had on the day. http://www.rockgardenkayaking.com Mark *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
