I think water pollution remains a problem. As does graffiti, the scourge of the LA area. Local beaches are constantly under alert due to polluted runoff (alerts are called frequently). But things are improving. The more paddlers and the public get feedback from paddlers like Mark, the better things will be. Kirk, considering that California is/was primarily a desert, a lot of the vegetation here comes from other parts of the world. Often parts of the world with similar climate (and I assume we share ours with theirs). If only the graffiti would die.
