Thanks for all your work. We (at least most of us) knew Bob was the wizard behind the curtain all along. It has been a fine run and maybe it's not over yet. Forums are still popular... the one I have (bigboxbikes.com) was growing like mad until September but perhaps that's just a seasonal aberration. The nice thing about forums is that you can put ads on them that can actually enhance the site because they see the content and look for ads that fit. I'm surprised at how well they fit into my forum but it took a few months. With just a few hundred visits a day I get enough revenue to pay for the hosting plus a tank of gas every month. I also started hosting on bluehost.com a few years back once I sold off our ISP; it is amazingly cheap. Plus you can get ssh access which makes old unix guys happy; I get confused with all the web page admin tools out there. The other nice thing about a forum is you can categorize it (camping, surfing, SUP, rock gardens, expeditions, etc.) and, of course, the photos. I used phpbb and haven't really customized it much.
