I'm sorry to see the magazine go, but it was a good run, and much appreciated by many around the world. When I was just getting interested in paddling, I read the magazine from cover to cover, never missing a thing. Much to enjoy, and much to learn in those pages. One day, I opened my mailbox, and found a picture of me on the cover (April, 1999)! That picture happened to be taken on the very day that was one year from the day I picked up that shiny new boat -- my first kayak. By then, I was living in an oceanfront home, and paddling every day, year 'round. I've since built a wooden boat, but still have, and love paddling that old Caribou as well. I met you a couple times over the years (once on the water, when you were testing your recently built wooden Greenland boat just outside the Shilshole Bay marina). You, and all those who contributed to the magazine have served as inspiration to many of us, and our lives are richer for it. So thanks again, and most importantly, continue enjoying the view from your boat! :) -- Melissa *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
