Regarding the loss of SKM: Loss of a great publication! Here is a toast to all those that contributed and made it great!! Including past and present editors and numerous contributors, all fellow paddlers that understood what SKM and the subscribers were all about. We were all lucky to be part of the crowd. It was a honor! The demise of SKM is indeed a great loss. For some, it was a source of skill building and competency. For others like me, it was a magazine providing adventure, camping, and fishing opportunity. . I don't see anything filling the immediate void. Great publication. What they *should* do, before shutting down entirely, is bequeath their entire published output to The Internet Archive, so that it will be digitized, replicated and available to the world indefinitely. After all, it's of no further use to them. And it would be a pity for all that aggregated knowledge and history to just disappear. ---rsk *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). If someone from the magazine is listening in, I'd be happy to facilitate a contact with the Internet Archive and then get out of the way. ---rsk *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
