Since you are asking the question, it means you want something that will
leave you hands free to brace, paddle on etc. while you get water out of
your boat.

Have you considered a battery-operated bilge pump?  They weigh a few
pounds and will pump out water at a _faster_ rate than most of us can
ever do on a _sustained_ basis with a hand or foot pump.  They are
submersible and are amazingly reliable.  I'm basing this on the accounts
of several people who I have talked to who have them and also seeing
their demonstrating how well they work.  They will easily pump for an
hour or two.

Price is in the $35 range.

They of course can break down, batteries go dead, etc.  But you can also
easily develop a cramp in your leg or arm when pumping with muscle
driven pumps.  Just a caution:  One person I know who brings one with
him at all times, has it stored in a bailing bucket.  Smart man.  Have a
backup :-)
