What I did was cut away the fastex buckles and put 2 brass grommets on each side. I ran a thin piece of bungee throgh each grommet and the other end is a SS hook, which grabs the pad eyes.. Takes about 5 minutes to make the conversion. The straps that are used to hold the bottles are great for snugging a VHF in tight. The center pocket hold snacks, keys etc and keeps them quit edry. The upper pocket holds the Garmin 12XL and there's room for other odds and ends.
