> Now that the subject's been raised, who uses rudders and who > leans > the boat? > I have a Looksha IV with a rudder that I rarely use. I was reading rbp before I started and I recall someone ranting(?) about being reliant on a rudder. If/when the damn thing broke it probably would not be under good condtions and you would have to rely on your remaining skills to get out of whatever situation you're in. I took that particular viewpoint to heart. One thing I do have to get in the habit of is checking to ensure the rudder is in working order before heading out. As for leaning, I try but probably rely more on muscle than teqhnique. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Mar 27 1998 - 05:31:43 PST
