I've made mention on this list about the use of my deep draft rudder. This is just a reminder to newer paddlers on the list that rudders are not the most effective means for turning kayaks. I use mine mostly as a trim tab for course holding. But, as my rudder is a deep draft design, it does have an amazing ability to assist with turns, when under speed.
