Yes Mark! People do this all the time and I don't understand it! Actually
I do because I slip up and do the same every now and then. Please people,
what Mark said above should be knowledge to everyone on the net. Spread
the word.

Brian.

therein lies the rub, you shouldn't send a copy to the sender AND the
list, it should be "either one or the other" -- not both... the sender is
on the list, they will get a copy, they shouldn't have to wade through two
copies of everything [which is what george was asking about last week, and
now he got two copies of your post]... my SIP is a long distance phone
call. i dial up, and download my mail, then hangup, then read my mail.

like the numerous folks who double the length of their mail by not turning
off the hypertext thingy, and send thier mail, with a duplicate attachment
of an html version of the same mail...

<soapbox mode off, i'll let the mailing list goddess deal with it ;->

Please allow me to quote Miss Mailers on the subject; here's what she
has to say:

>From my experience, people who send email with html commands in it do it by accident,
because they have mistakenly set something in their mailers that causes the commands to
show up in the email sent out. I don't think anyone does it on purpose. From my
experience they also don't realize they're sending garbled emails. I've found that the
most helpful response is a polite off-line note to them pointing it out, and suggesting
that they check the settings on their mailer.

As far as I know my mail software doesn't do that, so I'm afraid I can't advise on what
the settings are.
