[Paddlewise] VHF (ICOM IC-M1)

It has been mentioned that you can fit the ICOM IC-M1 VHF in a PFD
pocket. Do you have to first remove the antenna? Would that make it no
longer waterproof? And will the model with the larger battery (IC-M1+)
still fit in the PFD pocket?
