Just had to pass this on... This winter while in the phillipines, I was abord my escort boat for the night, after replacing the batteries in my gps Magellan 2000, I put it back inot it's plastic case, but did not close it proper I guess... Overnight, it fell into the bilge of the boat, the plastic bag filled up with grimmy oily water...The batteries leaked like mad... Took it out and cleaned real good with isopropyl and thereplaced the batteries....and it still works... It is amazing that it does, the water was total foul looking... I can still see the old phillipino captain's face when he found it... WON'T DO THAT AGIN have fun and close them watertight bags real good now...
