I am curious to learn of what encounters have been experienced from whale encounters where someone has had their kayak slammed, bumped lifted, brushed out of the way or slapped by the tale of passing Orca or other whale species. If such has indeed happened I would ask what did you do to attract such an event and what would you do differently so as to avoid a repeat incident? I understand that there is growing pressure on these animals from boaters and kayakers in general. Just how sensitive are kayakers becoming? Are guide outfitters a problem here? Is it an individual thing or is there in fact a general problem? I would like to hear you views in light of growing eco tourism.
