I know that West Marine sells special paint for hypalon. I used some on the
inflatables that I've owned. The spray paint peels off, and be sure not to
paint the other stuff on in the sun. I don't know about colors...

Sounds like a fun project! I read "The Starship and the Canoe" when I
paddled from Mulege to Loreto; a great book. 

What are you using as source material for your art?
