Has anyone had any experience with the GARMIN 3? It is a hand held that is loaded with ?street maps for all or most of North America and looks like it would be a great toy for a land based user. With Father's Day coming up, we thought this would be great for my father-in-law, when he is out hiking or driving around on holidays...the benefits of retirement! We, of course, figure we would just have to test it out or borrow it on occasion when we're out kayaking. (We would still be relying on our charts, as they aren't stored on the Garmin 3.) Since he likes gadgets we thought this might be appropriate on the "COOL" scale, but didn't know if the maps were detailed and comprehensive enough. (The few stores I've gone to around where I live have been out of stock.)
