There are some options to the modified Brit "chimp" pump used as a foot pump
--- see earlier posts. I installed a Baby Whaler I(Irish) pump, purchased at
one of the Boats'r'Us stores for about $20, that is used in priming galley
pumps. But it's small, and the capacity is low. Took me something close to
fifteen minutes to pump out a flooded Pintail --- a very low volume boat with
a lot of foam and flotation inside it. The "chimp" type is a lot better, but
takes up a tad more room --- should cut the time to empty the boat by 75%, my
guess now.
