After receiving the Stearns Industrial Catalog, I decided that the Utility Flotation Vest is better for kayaking, in that it lacked the collar of the SAR Flotation Vest. I figure that my sun hat will protect my neck and I don't need a hot collar rubbing against my neck. The Utility is like the Deck Hand (see http://lifesaving.com/pfd/induspfd.htm) but has draining pockets and an extra belt.
