Here's a for instance of why you should never paddle your kayak
in the outdoors. We were tripping along the banks of the Columbia
when a gaggle of tiny Canadian geese bonded to the back of my kayak.
The armada of little honkers wouldn't detach from our flotilla. This
is totally unacceptable, and the things they do to the Sunday
Oregonian newspaper are completely unmentionable, if perhaps
appropriate. Plus they bully the cats. So unless you want this to
happen to you, I would stay off the water and out of nature's
nursery. P.S. Seakayaks make wonderful planter boxes!
     Sincerely,
     Reformed Brad

that's so cute.

steve and i were paddling solo boats up a creek last saturday night, when
what seemed like a large dog charged off the left bank, hit the water, then
flew up across steve's bow.... a canadian goose. steve's pants probably
resembled some of your newspapers. i prefered the discussion with an owl
and the eerie night calls of osprey.

while it was peaceful there last saturday night, ten thousand manics
paddlers will race the creek tomorrow....that will be another kind of fun
:>) i'll be there...

bye bye bliven

We had a heat wave (90 degrees in March) in New England a couple
of weeks ago and I headed for a local bay. I heard a gawdawful racket
off in the distance and figured there must be a gazillion Canadian geese
over there somewhere. After a while, 2-300 of honkers took off and
headed right for me, forming really long formations. I had visions of
becoming engulfed in a ton of rear end emissions but fortunately they
swerved away. That was only about half of the geese. I finally came
across another couple of hundred of them hogging an entire section of
the bay.
