With math not being my best suit, why don't you buy a take apart like the
Betsy Bay Greenlander I have then the problem is non existent.
When can't do math enter from the back way.

The paddle I have was made from one piece of western cedar by a good friend
of mine Rob Savage of Inland Kayaks in Chicago.
I don't want a different one.
