I've gotten to the end of the sea kayaking portion of the boat survey we started (how many months ago?). Actually, it's been done for a few weeks now. I just haven't figured out a way to get it onto Jackie's web page. Any help would be appreciated. I compiled the survey in Excel. I exported the Excel document as an ascii document. It wound up looking a little ragged. Columns sort of bleed into each other. The printed Excel document looks pretty good especially if you set up your printer for "landscape" instead of "portrait" orientation, but not everybody has the Excel software. Also, there is some missing information. One of the columns is the type of construction for each kayak. Some of the respondees did not list the construction type so I used a question mark as a place holder. I think this info would serve everyone the best if it were set up as a web page. As such people could add to it as they acquire new toys. I think it has potential. We just need to figure out how to get it out there. If anyone is interested in the survey results thus far please respond via private email and mention if you want the ascii text or the Excel file. Just so happens I'm taking a class tomorrow in web site construction. Maybe I'll learn something relevant there! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************

There is an Excel 5.0 (for mac) ad-in called "XTML v1.3.0" shareware, available at the macworld download site. It converts an excel sheet (or portion thereof) to an HTML table. It works very nicely. If you arent running a mac, or have other troubles, email the sheet to me and I'll do the convert for you. If you have access to a machine running Win95 or NT, with MS Office 97, open the file in Excel and then File/Save as HTML. THe HTML wizard walks you through the process of converting it to an HTML table.
