re: the recent discussions on safety, today's New York Times had a little artlcle about a study done byh the National Transportation Safety Board. Most accidents & fatalities on personal watercraft involve operators who have had no boating safety insturciton & who were rideing for less than one hour. 97% of riders were wearing alife vest when they were involved in an accident, and - here's the surprising one - only 5% of accidents could be dfinitively linked to alcohol abuse.
