It's not always cold here in Alaska! ie. we don't live in igloos<vbg>
Actually, this is such a huge place that the weather varys quite a bit
from region to region. Southeast Alaska is a temperate rain forest,
with average summer temperatures around 55-60 F and anywhere from 100 to
180 inches of rain annually. Winter temps average in the 30F range.
(The temp reached 75F here in Juneau a couple of days ago and _everyone_
was complaining about how unbearably hot it was!)
Parts of the interior regions are very dry and have huge temperature
fluctuations - with winter lows in the -40F(or colder!) region and
summer highs reaching into the 80-90 degree range (or higher).
Today in Barrow (our northernmost town) the temp is only 37F as I write
this - that's cold for the end of June!
The Kenai area (South Central coastal region) - which is the area that
I recall was the destination for the trip that started this Trangia
thread should have fairly temperate (60-80F) daytime temps and evening
temps in the 40's or 50's at this time of year. BUT...you need to be
prepared for the chance of some truly miserable weather also - it's easy
to get nailed with a week of rain and wind with cool temps.

Cheers,
