There is a company here in Rhode Island called 'hop-on-top' and I think they even changed their name to Heritage. They make a glass boat and I was fortunate to run into one of their employees out on the water. We were both solo paddling and got together and he convinced me to swap boats. I believe his was custom for him and on the order of 20 feet. In any event, I expected the boat to be uncomfortable and piggish. It turned out to be comfortable, extremely fast, surfed well, good secondary stability due to a strange wing at the side. It would have made a good race boat. I have a sit in and personally didn't want an on-top but if I get more involved in long races I will give a more serious look to the Heritage boat.
