The video you are talking about may not be the same video I saw which is why I prefaced my comment with "if I recall the video correctly". My apologies to you if I did not state that clearly enough. If it is not then is the video sufficient to show that no eddies were caused by the paddle? I recognise that fluid dynamics is not your field.
