Thanks to everyone for the suggestions for waterproof binocs. It will make my search a bit easier. (FYI: current binocs are USD$50 SEARS 8X25 minis, vintage 1980, which travel in a ziplock baggy stuffed in PFD pocket.) Now, for something even more expensive and way gearhead: Any recommendations for binocs that give the range (distance to object in focus) and a compass bearing? Oh yes, and what about night vision scopes? What for?
