I ran into a guy a couple months ago who had created a kayak rack for his pickup just like you described, and it seemed to work great. In additional, he made a couple plywood cutouts that matched the cross section of his hull, bolted these to the front and back cross bars, and covered them with carpet for padding. tdittrich > -----Original Message----- > From: Tom_P_McAuliffe_at_fastmultimedia.com > [SMTP:Tom_P_McAuliffe_at_fastmultimedia.com] > Sent: Monday, September 21, 1998 7:17 PM > To: PaddleWise_at_lists.intelenet.net > Subject: [Paddlewise] kayak rack- pick up? > > > > Hi, > I need a good cheap way to put my 14 ft long Necky Dolphin on top of > my campershell-less pick up truck.
