I love being outdoors year-round, and in Northern California we are lucky to be able to do just that. My canoe club (POST in Oakland, California) takes one weekend trip every month. In the summer, we usually visit Sierra Nevada rivers, and in the winter, coastal streams fed by rainwater runoff. I'm glad I no longer have to be cooped up in the winter, as I was when I lived in Maryland and Michigan.
