And ditto for we lucky folks who reside in the more northerly Pacific
Northwest.  Big winds can nail you down for an extra day (or two) at
times, but except for the six or seven days a year when there is serious
ice on the water, one can paddle all year.  More birds and pinnipeds to
see in the winter, also.  Sure wish someone would lay a tiny wood stove
and compact wall tent on me for warmer/dryer tenting.  Anybody do that?

Around here, we paddle the Lower Columbia River (OR/WA) and Willapa Bay,
WA.

I have a crazy buddy who skins off to the Bahamas in December, though.
