Big winds can nail you down for an extra day (or two) at times, but except for the six or seven days a year when there is serious ice on the water, one can paddle all year. More birds and pinnipeds to see in the winter, also. Sure wish someone would lay a tiny wood stove and compact wall tent on me for warmer/dryer tenting. Anybody do that? Around here, we paddle the Lower Columbia River (OR/WA) and Willapa Bay, WA. I have a crazy buddy who skins off to the Bahamas in December, though. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Oct 09 1998 - 02:02:47 PDT
