[Paddlewise] End of "the groover"?

For those who've done extended runs on remote rivers, the sight of the much-
beloved "groover", the well-used ammo can, strapped to the side of the support
raft, may be a thing of the past. Technology moves us ahead.

A recent copy of the International Autosport catalog --- an interesting
compendium of expensive and virtually useless car-toys --- out ot
Charlottesville, Virginia, has, on page 39, a wondrous new device called an
"Inflate-a-Potty". Shown in color photos deflated in a small, hand-held stuff
sack and in its inflated form --- vaguely resembing three, horseshoe-shaped
inflated inner tubes stacked on top of one another, this "... convenient and
sanitary solution when restrooms are not available" comes with three standard
13-gallon trash bags. What a concept!

Based on the workmanship apparent in the photograph, however, it might be
advisable to keep the Inflate-a-Potty away from sharp-edged scree and,
possibly, pine needles, less one have a deflating, "let-down" experience at a
particularly critical time! Unsuitable for deployment on the afterdecks of
Nordkapps and other skinny boats. Suitable for operation in Spectrums and
possibly Coasters.

Thought all PaddleWise-asses should know about this important, uplifting
development in outdoor living through chemistry!
