When I recently asked about information on GPS instruments, a number of you referredme to the Telson website. Afterward I located this post concerning Telson company. Draw your own conclusions. If you are looking to buying an inexpensive GPS at Telson, be prepared for some unprofessional treatment. I recently had a bad experience with these guys and I need to vent this out to the community. I want everyone to know what kind of trouble you may be getting into if you order from these guys. They may have the lowest price for the Garmin StreetPilot but it may not be worth the hassle. here's the chronology..... 04/98 Signed up on waiting list at Telson for a StreetPilot 06/98 Garmin finally starts delivering the goods 08/98 Telson still hasn't delivered so I ordered it from somewhere else. Called up Danny Hamilton to cancel order. 10/06 Telson continues to ship me a unit even though I canceled the order. Called up Danny again to return merchandise and get a credit on my Mastercard. 10/08 Federal Express Tracking reports package received by Danny Hamilton 10/20 Mastercard reports no credit so I called Telson. Telson changes their phone system so now you only get the order desk. Ask to speak to Danny about this problem. Order lady refuses to connect me to management and threatens to hang up the phone on me. She insists that all inquiry must be submited via e-mail. 10/21 Sent e-mail to Telson and will wait 3 days for response. We'll see what happens. I don't normally rag on a company even if it treats me a little unprofessionally but this one really broke the camel's back. I hope this posting will prevent someelse from going through the same hassle as I did. If John didn't find it there to begin with, someone might want to post this on the gps newsgroup: sci.geo.satellite-nav Or at least ask on it if anyone else has had similar experiences with the company.
