With plane tickets so darn low these days, maybe we could have a S & G paddle fest in Viet Nam...Or the Phillipines...or better yet, visit with Caveman and Dave and the rest of the seacanoe gang at one of their fabulous locales, we could check out their latest in Puerto Princessa , Palawan Philipines or Fiji... Then would have lots to talk about... 52 days to go till Viet Nam have fun Yours naturally sylvio lamarche Wycliffe organic gardens & Exotic locales all over the globe *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************

I hope I didn't wind up insulting him when he was here visiting. Regarding PFDs, John has a "when in Rome..." outlook and not only very willingly put on a PFD while paddling to the Statue of Liberty and back but also bought state-of-the-art Lotus Design PFDs to take home with him. BTW, remember that most of his trips involve inflatables with just a scattering of sit on tops. ralph -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . . I just came back from Puerto Rico. Because of Georges, the airfares are under $200 from Miami. I suspect that PR will be a bargain for the next couple of months... Damage was pretty much under control. I'll be going back on Wednesday. How about a cyberpaddle somewhere? *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************

Actually with price of plywood and labour in any of these places, it would be very easy to have a S & G awaiting for every one...and a tropical wood padle to boot... How about a cashew paddle, or lime wood, My fav would be a cinnamon paddle, but I think I'll have to look long and hard for a cinnamon tree big enough Yours naturally sylvio lamarche Wycliffe organic gardens & Exotic locales all over the globe *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
