Sarah, There have been two articles in recent editions of sea kayaker. One was a group of four new zealnders who visited recently, and the other was a solo paddler who went about 15 years ago and was lucky to escape with his life -- he was badly inexperienced. I suggest you check www.seakayakermag.com for the articles or at least the archives. Let me know what you find out. :) Kevin ___________________ / Kevin Whilden \ |Dept. of Geosciences \___ |University of Washington \ |kwhilden_at_u.washington.edu| \________________________/ On Wed, 18 Nov 1998, Chuck Holst wrote: > > -----Original Message----- > > Hi Folks- > > I am looking for information on paddling Patagonia, especially the areas of > the Straights of Magellan and the Chilean Fjordlands. > Anyone been there? > > Thanks, > Sarah Ohmann > > ************************************************************************** * > > Sarah, I don't have any knowledge of Patagonia, but I think that you have > paddled primarily the Great Lakes, so if you haven't already, I suggest > that you take some tidal training and surf classes, such as George > Gronseth's, before paddling there.
