I just did the same roll yesterday. When I came up my kayaks bow was sitting in the lap of another Kayaker as we broached on the wave face. Neither of us were to happy about it, but both OK. Completing that surf roll is mostly not doing anything to screw it up. Stay in the boat and let the wave do its thing. << The last few times I capsized in surf I managed to roll up without rolling. I didn't set up, didn't sweep, didn't hip snap. Yet I rolled up comfortably broached on the wave in a high brace.
